Do you know a Senior who is Isolated, and Disconnected from Technology?

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

SWSRC is looking for socially isolated seniors in South Winnipeg to take part in our Social Inclusion & Digital Literacy (SIDL) project. This will involve the distribution of portable technology, (iPads) to selected isolated seniors for the purpose of improving social engagement with others and expanding their social network by learning and using an iPad. They will have access to the internet and iPads for a period of 3-6 months.

South Winnipeg Seniors Resource Council is a non-profit information and referral hub connecting older adults with community resources to assist them in daily living.

HOW WE SERVE:

  • Presentations on lifestyle topics such as active living, falls prevention, talking with your doctor, and driving concerns as an older adult

  • Information brochures

  • FYI referral guides on transportation, housing, recreation, care services, home maintenance, meal and grocery programs, and support services

  • Emergency Response Information Kit (E.R.I.K.) distribution

  • SWSRC community meal program for older adults

The services listed above evolve in response to community needs.
